Penguins created their own French flag painting inspired by the Bastille Day fireworks.

Preschoolers watched a video about the Eiffel Tower, before using loose part materials to decorate a template of the icon tower. Children also identified the letters in ‘France’ and then children drew their hand on the French flag. At rest time, preschoolers made blue, white and red lanterns to decorate their room.

Finally, Toddlers joined in for a yummy afternoon tea with croissants, baguettes, cheese, jam and fruit.

French culture is regularly celebrated across the centre as Mrs Geraldine teaches French to all children twice a week. Children engage in a variety of fun activities and love to sing along. After a year of weekly French lessons, children understand the language better and now interact in French using a few words. Children with a French speaking background feel valued and are very happy to share their culture with their peers.
