Food and Nutrition

Providing nutritious food

Nutrition and mealtimes are fundamental to the development of little ones, providing the energy they need throughout the day to actively learn and grow. Our meals are balanced and reach the nutritional requirements from the Dietary Guidelines for Early Childhood in Australia.

Fostering healthy habits for life

Children can drink water at any time and we serve 4 meals a day: breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
Breakfast is served to children who arrive before 8.30am and consists of cereals with milk and toast.

For morning tea, children enjoy fresh fruit and yoghurt. Lunch is served hot from Kids Gourmet Food. KGF daily delivers fresh meals prepared with high-quality and seasonal ingredients. Afternoon tea is offered around 3.30pm. Children have a choice of raw vegetables with dips or cheese.

We nurture healthy eating habits, encouraging children to comment on what they eat and engaging them in cooking activities on a regular basis. We actively involve children in the preparation of special events such as baking birthday cakes or pizzas for our Italian day for example. We encourage independence around mealtimes and self-feeding from an early age.

Since we understand that nutrition is at the core of the physiological wellbeing of each and every child, we actively plan to ensure children’s dietary requirements are fulfilled, taking into consideration special dietary requirements. However, as each family has a preference for baby formula, we do ask that parents supply their own.
