School Readiness
Setting children up for academic success
Our school readiness program
Building essential skills for school
At Global Explorers, we know that building strong foundations for school requires time and we prepare children to transition to school over two years.
Skills are essential to facilitate transition: curiosity, attention, reliance, independence, emotional and social skills and self-help skills allow children to adapt to a larger and an academic environment.
Our school readiness program
In the Joeys room (3-4), we focus a lot on developing a strong sense of self to grow confident learners. Progressively, children also demonstrate a strong interest in developing friendships and finding their true place in a group and in the world: that is why we equip children with strong social skills.
In the Kangaroos room (4-5), children are so eager to learn that they play a very important role in their own learning. They demonstrate a real curiosity for numeracy and literacy. We respond to their thirst for knowledge and challenge them with problem solving and more systematic structured activities. Academic concepts are applied in a real-world context empowering children to gain control on their environment.
Our little explorers thrive at school!
