St Ives’ Wildflower Garden visit
To celebrate NAIDOC week, the Koalas, Joeys and Kangaroos children went on a fun excursion to St Ives’ Wildflower Garden. Guided by two rangers, Carol and Ben, children did a bushwalk and met a few scaly animals such as Bernie the bearded dragon, Bandit the blue tongued lizard and Tiny the long-necked turtle.
Children then enjoyed some pretend play in the mud kitchen and some free play at the playgrounds. They loved sitting down around the firepit and roasting marshmallows. Soon after, it was time to hop on the bus and head back to the centre. Through this excursion, the children learned about their local natural environment, animals we can meet in it, and how to care for Country. What a fun day!
