Joeys & Kangaroos

Our preschool room can welcome up to 28 children aged 3 to 5 years.

It offers an ideal space to prepare children for their transition to school and give them freedom of choice, including between indoor and outdoor learning experiences. Therefore, preschoolers benefit from a strong school readiness program based on a play-based approach.

3- to 5-year-old children are like little sponges, soaking up knowledge and making connections. During this stage, their cognitive skills are blossoming. They are developing their attention span, memory, and problem-solving skills.

The indoor space is divided into different learning corners: a large mat for group times and storytelling and small corners for math, fine motor/handwriting and literacy activities. Additionally, an adjacent room is used for individual learning and children also have consistent access to our library room. Our literacy program has a strong focus on exposure to books in order to enhance children’s vocabulary and syntax.

In short, the preschool room opens the doors to a world of learning by nourishing children’s curiosity and helping them grow into confident learners. We foster independence and resilience. Self-help skills are encouraged, and children refine social and emotional skills. They progressively get ready to operate in a school-based environment.
